"The Maui Summer Classic was one of the classiest and most
exciting events our team has competed in. The players were able to see another
culture, enjoy many water activities, socialize with other teams and enjoy great
basketball. In addition, our families who attended the trip had a marvelous
vacation.
All in all, it was the tournament of a lifetime and built memories and
relationships that will last forever."

Michael, "I know I have told you this before, but
we all had the best trip we have ever had. The host hotel
was great, the games were great and you were a wonderful host. We hope you will
come to Maine this fall and visit! Please let us know and we will show some
Northeastern hospitality."

"Great tournament this year, it was so
professional and organized. I can't thank you enough for what you have brought
back to our island, especially after the last three years of having to endure
the unorganized tournaments that WYBT held here. Our kids enjoyed the
competition from the teams from the mainland. Again, Michael my hats off to you
and your staff for making the tournament in Maui a top notch tournament for
future High School teams to come to. You could just feel the buzz and energy
around the air at Closing Ceremonies. The local teams are already gearing up and
really looking forward to next years tournament. The community was so supportive
of this tournament because of the way you involved alot of the local people to
be part of this tournament. I know for a fact that we will get more of the
Hawaiian teams from the other islands involved next year now that we have seen
how it was delivered. The High School coaches here in Maui now will definitely
promote it within the islands without worrying about putting their stamp of
approval on it."

"As you know we, (The Pearl
City Chargers) has had a bitter taste in our mouths from the previous years Maui
tournament ran by WYBT, so we were very skeptical at first. But after
speaking with you, our coaches have learned that you are a man of your word and
this year’s tournament was everything we hoped for, everything you promised was
brought to fruition.
Our experience with this
tournament was exceptional! We have attended tournaments in Ohio as well
as the other Hawaii islands and this one was terrific! The gyms as well as
the staff running them did a great job and were, in my opinion, fair. We
especially liked the fact that the referees allowed the boys to play the game
and not get caught up in "trivial" infractions.
The dance was the highlight
for our boys, second only to winning runner up in the Jr. Boys division.
Just the chance of being able to hang out with the other participants in their
own way, gave them a chance to relax and enjoy themselves.
The whole tournament from
the opening ceremonies to the closing ceremonies ran especially well. It
was well organized and we appreciate the hard work that your staff and you put
into it. We will definitely be there next year!
"In closing, a big Mahalo to
you and your staff for everything. We are hoping to bring up a JV boys and
girls team for next year."

“BTW… wonderful tournament and so well organized….
Sorry that my team didn’t make the early festivities, but I appreciate
all the hard work that you have given to make this event very
successful. Please let me know when you will be having another
event like this. Thanks again.”

Michael,
“I hope you are back from Maui rested and ready to enjoy the
remainder of your summer. I just wanted to take a minute and thank you so
much for such a great tournament. Everything ran smoothly and we all had a
great time. The basketball was good, the facilities and all of the extra
activities were great. We especially enjoyed the award night on Friday
night.”
“Thanks again for everything and all of your hard work and
dedication. We hope that we will be able to participate again.”

Michael,
"I would like to tell you, and your staff, what a great tournament.
Everything went off without any problems that were apparent, from the Opening
Ceremony & Luau, to the Dance for the kids and the Closing Ceremony & Outback
Steakhouse BBQ, it was all first class."
"The girls on the team and the
parents couldn't have expected anything more, okay more time in Hawaii. We
look forward to trying to work it into our schedule for next year."
Thanks,

Mike,
Every year this tournament just keeps getting better and better! As always, The
Pearl City Chargers had a great time! We feel honored to be participating in an
event such as the Maui Summer Classic. It is just pure Basketball fun from start
to finish!
Thank you for working so hard to accommodate every team and all the little
issues that come up unexpectedly. You and your staff has exceeded themselves
once again, with their organization, skills and willingness to make this a
successful tournament.
This year we brought up 2 boys teams and although we didn't fare as well as we
did last year the competition was what we enjoyed the most. The teams we played
against were great opponents and seem to push our local teams to step up to a
higher level of game, I am positive the mainland teams feel the same way about
us, too. I believe the local teams were well represented and I am very proud of
them.
One regret was that our boys were not able to make the dance this year. It was
one of the highlights for us last year and we were looking forward to it again.
Unfortunately, because we had an early game the next day we voted to forgo it
this year. Please consider making the dance for 4 hours next year rather than
only 2 hours. There are many teams that stay outside the Lahaina/Kaanapali area
and so 2 hours is not long enough to mingle and meet the other teams when
it takes almost an hour just to get to the site.
The awards ceremony was great! One of our players enjoyed himself so much that
he ended up dancing with the Hula troupe! He got a lot of laughs for that....
Our boys will be back again next year and until then...

"We just got back last night. Just a short note to once again thank you for a
great time in Maui. The girls & the parents had a wonderful experience. We had
an outstanding time. The closing ceremonies were one of the best parts of the
event - that group of kids was tremendous & those that left early or didn't even
show missed out on of the highlights."
"Again thank you for the beautiful experience - our kids did it all, swam,
surfed, biked down a volcano, flew in a helicopter, saw unforgettable sunrises &
sunsets, meet some great people, experienced outstanding hospitality and played
some fun games of basketball - doesn't get any better than that !!"
"Once again thanks for the opportunity - we had a great time & brought back lots
of fond memories."

Hi Michael,
"We had an absolutely magnificent time in Maui. How can you not? The tournament
was alot of fun and was well worth all those car washes we had to do in order to
get to Maui. We also enjoyed the Luau and BBQ by Outback Steakhouse, but the
girls cant stop talking about how much fun they had at the dance".
"Thank You!! so
much for all the hard work you put into this tournament."
Cheryl Arness, Coach

"Michael, Thanks again for a great tourney, we had a great
time and are planning to be back next year to defend and bring our younger team."
"Thanks again for everything and let me know ASAP the dates for next year."

Hi
Alphonso,
"I
first want to say it was a pleasure meeting you at the tournament. It
was a once in a lifetime experience for myself as well as all the girls
who had the opportunity to go. Hawaii is one of those places people talk
about when they think ‘someday’."
"Hopefully some of the girls will have an opportunity
to visit it again in their lifetime. For those of us pushing or over 40, we
may never get a chance to experience Hawaii again. Only thing I would change
is having the opportunity to buy more tournament sweatshirts, lol."
Thank-you!

Hello Michael,
"I would like to thank you so much for the great tournament you put on this past
summer.
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
We are going to make up a scrapbook and we can't remember each team that we
played. My daughter is on the Windsor Valiants Voy team, these girls are 15
years old".
"Thank you so much for all the hard work you do for these kids. It is greatly
appreciated!"
