About On The Ball

On The Ball Youth Basketball runs youth basketball leagues and tournaments for boys and girls and has been running the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) South Puget Sound Area Youth Basketball League in Tacoma, Washington since 1992.  In 1995 a partnership was developed with Northwest Sports, Inc. Northwest Sports currently facilitates AAU Youth Basketball Leagues in the Seattle area, the partnership combined the two leagues under the umbrella of the Pacific Northwest  Amateur Athletic Union (PNAAU).

Pacific Northwest AAU is divided into two divisions.  Youth from the North Puget Sound area play in Seattle (North Division) youth basketball league and youth from the South Puget Sound area play in Tacoma (South Division) youth basketball league, with all teams coming together at the end of each session for the Pacific Northwest AAU playoffs.
Fall, winter, and spring youth basketball leagues are offered for teams in grades 4th through 12th.  All AAU tournaments throughout the year are sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union.

Mr. Bradley has developed a strong relationship with many colleges and his experience working with student athletes at all levels has filled a void that is needed in the Puget Sound area. The  Pacific Northwest AAU program has been a great playing field for many student athletes to play in a year round competitive basketball program and a great opportunity for student athletes to find their way for opportunities to play at the next level.  Many of the student athletes from the Pacific Northwest AAU programs have gone on and played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and are still currently in the league. The Puget Sound area has been a great recruiting ground for NCAA division one colleges over the past ten years, producing NBA stars such as New York Knicks Jamal Crawford, Toronto Raptors Michael Dickerson, Boston Celtics Jason Terry,  Sacramento Kings Doug Kristy, Seattle Supersonics Luke Ridnour, New Jersey Nets Brian Scalibrine, Atlanta Hawks Hiram Fuller and Kate Starbird with the WNBA.
